KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A two-month long investigation into complaints about suspected drug activity at a Cassatt house has resulted in several arrests and the discovery of what Kershaw County Sheriff James Matthews says was a meth lab.
As a result of their investigation, deputies served a warrant at the home on Porter Road in Cassatt Thursday.
Deputies say they found more than a half-pound of marijuana, methamphetamine, a gun, and a small meth lab.
Deputies arrested 24-year-old Larry Alford, 19-year-old Cody Thomas, 19-year-old Courtney Sheffield,all who lived at the home, and 24-year-old Scott Rafalko.
Alford is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Thomas is charged with possession of methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine. Rafalko and Sheffield are both charged with possession of marijuana.
Thomas and Sheffield do not have a previous criminal record. Sheriff Matthews says Alford has previous arrests for burglary, grand larceny and narcotics charges. Rafalko has previous drug arrests and a shoplifting arrest.
All four are awaiting a bond hearing at the Kershaw County Detention Center.
