The excitement was high on the last day of school at Doby's Mill Elementary, but it got a whole lot higher when 3rd grade student, Jayla Clark, was surprised by her mom, who has been deployed this school year. Tears of joy were abundant as the two were happily reunited.

Camden, SC—May 23, 2013—The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) is proud to announce that the competitive dance team, “Camden Crew,” trained by Kelley’s Fine Arts (KFA) of Florence, has won several top awards and earned high scores in competitions this year including First Place Overall Group of the Day. The “Camden Crew” is comprised of dancers from the Camden area and was created in 2011 under the direction of Alexis Kelley and Cameron Turner.

Doby’s Mill Elementary Named 2013 National School of Character

 

The Doby’s Mill Elementary School Dolphins are proud to be named a 2013 National School of Character. Dobys’ Mill Elementary is only one of 29 schools and districts in the United States to receive this award and is only one of three Palmetto State Schools to receive this national award.

 “Schools of Character are places that foster more than just academic growth—these are nurturing educational communities that support parents in their most important job—raising good kids,” said National Schools of Character Director Lara Maupin.
