Beware of roofing repair scams

If your home’s roof has recently been damaged in a storm, or if a repair contractor tells you it has, be very cautious. Otherwise, you might fall victim to a roofing scam.

According to the National Weather Service, there have been over 3,500 severe storms (hail, tornado, and wind) already this year. As storm season continues, The South Carolina Insurance News Service offers advice on how to protect yourself against repair scams and subpar work.

(AP) - The United Way wants to say "thank you" to state workers in South Carolina with a food truck rodeo. Organizers say the Wurst Wagen and trucks from Pawleys Mobile Eats and 2Fat2Fly are expected to be at the Statehouse on Friday. State employees can get $5 coupons for lunch and dessert. Men accused of breaking into home while residents were sleeping

KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS)- Kershaw County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested two men, one a juvenile, after they reportedly entered a home in East Camden while the occupants slept and stole an iPhone, car keys and a small quantity of cash.

Robert J. Davis, 33, of East Camden and a 16-year-old juvenile from Camden have been taken into custody by Kershaw County Sheriff's investigators following a complaint from the residents of a home on Bailey Street.
