Report: Police warning banks of money switch scammer

The Camden Police Department is warning financial institutions of a scam where the suspect switches out money for personal gain.

The report said on March 22, police responded to the First Palmetto Bank in Dusty Bend in reference to a fraud/confidence game scam.

Police say the bank manager advised them that the institution has been having problems with a male suspect switching out money for his personal gain.

Report: Officer pepper-sprays dog during DUI stop

An officer was forced to pepper-spray a dog following a DUI traffic stop, according to the Camden Police Department.

The report said on Saturday, an officer on patrol observed a black Toyota Corolla driving erratically on Chestnut Street.

The officer then activated his lights, but the vehicle ignored his signals, the report stated.

When the car finally pulled over, the officer was unable to exit his vehicle due to a large German Sheppard that was gnawing at his front and rear bumper cover.

Mid-Carolina High School science teacher Joel Mitchell will become an assistant principal at Lugoff-Elgin High School next school year. 

 

“I am extremely pleased with Mr. Mitchell’s depth of instructional background,” said KCSD Superintendent Frank Morgan.  “His positive attitude and enthusiasm are contagious. We look forward to welcoming him to the Kershaw County School District family.”
