Deputies say store employee's new boyfriend attacked by her ex | Crime
KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A Camden man is charged with attempted murder after sheriff's deputies say he attacked his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend with a knife.
Deputies were called to the Dollar General in East Camden Thursday afternoon for a report of a fight. When they arrived, they found a man in front of the store who was bleeding.
Witnesses at the scene told investigators 24-year-old Marcus Maurice Dow of Camden had started a fight with another man and stabbed him. They gave deputies a description of the car Dow was driving and he was pulled over not far from the scene.
Dow told officers that he was going to the hospital because he had a serious knife wound to his hand. An ambulance took him to the hospital.
The victim was taken to the hospital with what deputies described as life threatening injuries to his head and torso.
Investigators learned that Dow was the former boyfriend of an employee at the store and the victim was the woman's current boyfriend. Deputies say Dow confronted the victim in front of the store and pulled a knife, cut the victim on the side of his head and stabbed him several times in the torso.
Dow, who cut himself during the attack, was treated at the hospital and is expected to undergo surgery to his hand. The victim remains in stable, but critical condition.
Dow has been charged with attempted murder and remains in the Kershaw County Detention Center on a $200,000.00 bond.
