Man arrested for criminal sexual conduct with 17-year-old daughter | Crime

Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a 35-year-old Kershaw County man living in Camden and charged him with 2nd degree criminal sexual conduct and incest. 

Officers were dispatched to a Camden residence on August 11 following a frantic report from a family member that the suspect had been sexually assaulting his 17-year-old daughter for over a year, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Upon arrival, deputies found the suspect who without being ordered to do so, had already removed all his belonging, taken off his belt and placed his hands behind his back.

Deputies say they interviewed the suspect, the victim and her mother at the scene and the decision was made to take the suspect into custody at that time.

According to the report, further investigation as well as forensic and physical examinations of the victim took place within the past 10 days and these examinations supported the victim’s claim.

His bond for the incest was set at $75,000.00, but his bond on the Criminal Sexual Conduct charge was denied. The suspect remains in custody at the Kershaw County Detention Center.

The suspect’s identity is was not included in this release to protect the identity of the victim.
