Camden ART Fall Show Opens at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County | Arts & Culture

Camden, SC – November 29, 2012 – Camden ART (formerly Camden Art Association) will open its Fall Show in the Bassett Gallery at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) on Friday, December 7 with a reception from 5:30-7:00 p.m. just prior to the Edward Arron & Friends Chamber Music concert. Light hors d'ouevres and a cash bar will be available. The opening reception is sponsored by First Community Bank. The Camden ART exhibit will be on display in the Bassett Gallery until January 18, 2013.

The exhibit will include works of art in a variety of styles and media including watercolor, oil, acrylic, charcoal, pen and ink, and mixed media. Select works will be available for purchase just in time for the holidays. The Camden ART Fall Show will be judged by Truman Teed, retired USC art professor.

 “Camden ART’s Fall Show is a wonderful exhibit that showcases the many talents of artists in our community,” said Kristin Cobb, FAC Executive Director. “We are always delighted to feature their work in the Bassett Gallery.”

The first, second, and third place winners, along with the Audience Favorite will be featured in the Spring Show scheduled for May in the Bassett Gallery. The Spring Show will be titled “Blackbirds, Ravens and Crows” and the works of art will reflect this theme, as well as showcase the winning Fall Show pieces.

Camden ART is a group of local artists, both professional and amateur, who meet the first Monday of each month at FAC and present two annual exhibits in the Fine Arts Center’s Bassett Gallery.  Camden ART welcomes anyone interested in visual arts to join this affiliate club.  Membership will provide opportunities for artists to showcase their work, to hear from speakers and demonstrators who can share their expertise, and meet other artists in the community.
