Lugoff Toyota Hosts Grand Opening of Redesigned Dealership

Lugoff Toyota will celebrate the grand opening of its completely renovated dealership on Friday, May 24 from 1 – 3 p.m. at an open reception for the community. There will be guided tours of the new facility and a ribbon cutting ceremony at the dealership, located at 878 Hwy 1 South in Lugoff, S.C.

AAA: Low SC gas prices mean busy Memorial Day
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Low gas prices are expected to mean more driving for South Carolinians over the Memorial Day weekend. AAA Carolinas says it estimates that more than 443,000 South Carolina motorists will hit the road this weekend. That's 1.5 percent more than last year's holiday. AAA says South Carolina's average gas price is $3.24 a gallon, the lowest in the country.

Five stores cited for selling alcohol to minors

 

Following an undercover operation, five stores in Kershaw County were cited after selling alcohol to minors, according to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.

The report said on May 20 Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation in which underage individuals acting under the direction of the Sheriff’s Office attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages from 38 locations in Kershaw County that were licensed to sell alcohol.

SC State Museum Receives Collection of Historic Transistor Radios

 

These days, an iPod with two ear buds typically provides portable music for the young and young-at-heart.

Half a century ago, however, it was one plug in the ear, and the other end of the wire ran to what was then the latest thing in electronics – a transistor radio.

The South Carolina State Museum has received a large collection of these iconic electronics, along with another type of radio that once gathered music and information from around the world – the short wave.

South Carolina Drug Cards FREE Through SC African Chamber of Commerce

 

Soon small businesses in South Carolina will see lower prescription drug costs under a new healthcare savings program.

The healthcare savings program will use the South Carolina Drug Card, which is sanctioned under the Prescription Assistance Program (PAP). The card can result in savings of up to 75 percent on brand and generic medications. The South Carolina Drug Card is free and accepted at all major pharmacies, including CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, BI-LO, Kmart, Fred’s, Ingles, Kerr, Longs, Target and Walmart.
